What about an immature? Similar plumage and shape, darker eyes.

Subject: Sage Thrasher or ???

Hi,

Yesterday morning at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in Utah, I spent a
long time looking at a very well back lit bird that looked for all the world
like the Sage Thrasher as pictured in Peterson's and NGS3, except that I
could not see a yellow eye. (This bird, which would be a lifer, was in fact
the reason I took the side trip on what was consequently an even longer very
very long drive home.) My question is, if it wasn't a Sage Thrasher I was
looking at, what might it have been? I haven't been able to find anything
else in my books that looks like the bird I was watching.

Thanks for any help.
