I thought some people might like an update on the Hummingbird in Vanderhoof.
It appears that my first assumption (I should know better) that it was a
RUFOUS was incorrect and my neighbour had an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD at his
feeder. My husband and I spent at least an hour last weekend watching it and
we feel it must be an ANNA"S. I understand that it is possible for it to be
here this time of year. We have not seen it for the last few days so it
probably has moved on to warmer climes. I cannot imagine that it would
survive our cold (often -40? C) weather so we are actually happy to have had
the visit and had it move on.
