Sightings for Saturday October 16th

Five HORNED LARKS were seen at the foot 96th st. in Delta.

The WILLET and 2 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were on the ferry jetty in Tswwassen

A HARLAN RED-TAILED HAWK was in between the turn into Tswwassen and Delta
City hall and Hwy 17.

A MERLIN was at the 3800 block of Cambridge St. in Burnaby.


Friday October 15th

The highlights of a survey of Blackie Spit and the Crescent Beach area were
an OSPREY, a late adult COMMON TERN in basic plumage, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS
and the resident LONG-BILLED CURLEW

Five BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were seen of the sea wall in Stanley Park between
Second Beach and Ferguson Point. Another 5 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were off
the Tswwassen Ferry Jetty.

One NORTHERN SHRIKE was at Maplewood Flats in north Vancouver.


Thursday October 14th

An adult BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON was at Reifel Refuge.

Wednesday October 13th

Two AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were off the Semiamoo Bay side of Blaine
Washington.

Two GREAT HORNED OWLS and over 100 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were at Deas
Island Regional Park.

Tuesday October 12th

Three PARASITIC JEAGERS and one BRANT'S CORMORANT were seen of the south
jetty at Iona Island.

Monday October 11th

The AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN was relocated on the Coal Port Jetty at Robert's
Bank.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at the Boundary Bay airport along with a
PEREGRINE FALCON.

The WILLET continues on the ferry jetty, and a GREAT HORNED OWL was at 17A
and Beach Grove Road in Tswwassen.

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen on the 4000 block of west 40th Ave. in
Vancouver.

The pond at Ambleside Park in west Vancouver had 2 male and 1 female
RING-NECKED DUCK. Other three RING-NECKED DUCKS were at Iona along with a
EARED GREBE.

A EURASIAN WIGEON was at the foot of 112th in Delta and a TURKEY VULTURE was
over the Fraser Hwy and Hwy 15 in Surrey.
