YELLOW-BILLED LOON

Sunday October 17
---------------------------
A YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen off the beach at the end off Mariner road, by
the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville. It was seen along with common
and pacific loons in the area.

The Sunday Bird Walk went to the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville.
Weather was sunny, 12 degrees celcius with a light breeze. 47 species were
seen and heard with some of the highlights:

yellow-billed loon
marbled murrlet
red-necked grebe
harlequin duck
hooded merganser
red-breasted merganser
common merganser
black-belled plover
western sandpiper
coopers hawk
merlin
northern harrier
varied thrush

Friday October 15

A varied thrush was seen at Bay street and Departure Bay road.

Monday October 11
----------------------------
A white-throated sparrow was seen near the Garry Oak tree at the Nanaimo
River Estuary. Also seen at the estuary were two trumpiter swans flying over.

Two turkey vultures were seen flying over the Nanoose Bay area.

at Terminal Park Mall by Country Style Donuts. We will be going to
