Subject: TROPICAL KINGBIRD???

Well, not really a first. A few Tropical-ish Kingbirds wander more-or-less
northwest to the coast each fall. Some years we get a few up this far; more
of them wind up in coastal California or Oregon. I remember birds near
Westport and even up on Samish Island, within the last few years. Late
kingbirds along the coast are more likely to be Tropical than Western. Of
course, I say Tropical-ish because, as has been pointed out here before,
telling a non-vocal Tropical from, say, a Couch's Kingbird, could be a
little tough.

Now if this bird is a Couch's, that'd be a first, I think.
