I can't keep quiet.
We have suet feeders in our maple at the side of the front yard and the
pileated and flickers are our best customers. The feeders have extra long
"tails" on them to make it easier for them to hold on. We make our own cakes
as I do not think we could afford to buy enough to support the crowd. The
birds will at times sit at the top while my husband Lloyd pulls the feeder
up on the pulley. Chickadees will ride up and down. The pileated even bring
their "pinkies" (young ones) Those of you that came to see the xantus' in
the yard might remember the half time shows the pileated performed.
