Sightings for Friday October 22

The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen for the third consectutive day at Ocean
Shores in Washington State this morning between 9:30 and 10:30 am with a
mixed flock of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and DUNLIN at Damen Point. For updates

October 21st
The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen for over five hours at Damen Point in Ocean
Shores.

Locally, one dark phased and one light phased ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK were seen
along with a NORTHERN SHRIKE at Boundary Bay at 64th St.


October 20th

A EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen at Ocean Shores in Washington state this
morning with a mixed flock of GOLDEN PLOVERS at the base of Damen Point.

October 19th
An OSPREY flew over the King George Highway and 44th Ave. in Surrey near the
Serpentine River. Another late OSPREY was at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby.

Lilly Point in Point Robets Washington had 8 HEERMANN'S GULLS, 5 OLDSQUAW
and 4 PIGEON GUILLEMOTS. Two other HEERMANN'S GULLS were off the marina at
Lighthouse Park.



October 18th

The first report of BARROW'S GOLDENEYE came from West Vancouver in the
Dundarave pier (located near the foot of 23rd or 24th Street).


October 17th

A HARRIS' SPARROW was relocated in the Lighthouse Park area of Point
Robert's. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at Boundary Bay Regional Park
Tsawwassen.

Reifel Refuge had 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS, 1 NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL and
1NORTHERN SHRIKE.

Fourteen BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were at Ferguson Point, Stanley Park.



Saturday October 16th

Five HORNED LARKS were seen at the foot 96th st. in Delta.

The WILLET and 2 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were on the ferry jetty in Tsawwassen

A HARLAN'S RED-TAILED HAWK was in between the turn into Tsawwassen and Delta
City hall and Hwy 17.

A MERLIN was at the 3800 block of Cambridge St. in Burnaby.


Friday October 15th

The highlights of a survey of Blackie Spit and the Crescent Beach area were
an OSPREY, a late adult COMMON TERN in basic plumage, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS
and the resident LONG-BILLED CURLEW

Five BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were seen of the sea wall in Stanley Park between
Second Beach and Ferguson Point. Another 5 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were off
the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty.

One NORTHERN SHRIKE was at Maplewood Flats in north Vancouver.
