Subject: Ocean Shores Dotterel: 10/23 morning report
Date: Oct 23 11:16:53 1999

By mid-morning, over 100 birders had seen the Dotterel along the system of
flats west of the base of Damon Pt., sometimes around a mile out. At low
tide, this area is huge, and the bird could be (and was!) almost anywhere,
loosely associating with a group of Black-bellied Plovers. We even saw it
from our car, from a small access between Wawona Avenue and the cement
water tank along Marine View Dr.

At high tide (early afternoon), the accessible area will be greatly
reduced. Good luck, everyone.
