The Eurasian Dotterel was seen this morning by a large group of birders. The
bird was located on the inner bay side at the beginning of Damon Point. It
was congregating on the mudflats in a large mix flock of Black Turnstones,
Dunlin, Black-bellied Plovers with a few Long-billed Dowitchers and
Yellowlegs. The bird was seen from about 8:30-8:45 clearly until the fog
rolled in. It was seen occasionally through the thick fog after, with the
fog finally lifting for a bit around 9ish. The bird stayed around for a few
minutes longer when it took off and flew east through the fog. I left after
that so don't know anything else about it after. Well thats about it. I can
sleep well tonight now that I have seen the bird.
Good luck to all the Dotterel seekers.
