When I returned from a slightly too long walk out the spit at Ocean Shores
on Sunday (10/24/99), I found a clump of people on the beach who seconds
before had been viewing a Eurasian Dotterel. All I got was the consolation
prize. Virtually at their feet but unnoticed in the excitement was a Rock
Sandpiper amongst the large flock of Black Turnstones and Dunlins. So keep
your eyes out. There are other birds as well.

Also of interest, at 8:30 this morning (10/26/99) a peregrine falcon was
sitting on the top of the south transmission line tower next to the I-5
bridge over the ship canal in Seattle. Personally I couldn't say whether
it was "Freeway" but it was the usual place. This is the first time this
year I have seen a falcon there.
