Folks,

As far as I know, no one saw Dottie today, although evidently not many
people looked. We can confidently say that it did not roost at high tide
on the outer spit, west of the base of Damon Pt. With today's 10.5' high
tide, Sue and I barely had a log to hold onto; the spit was completely
awash, and the saltmarsh was completely submerged. The pond on the point
was flushed. The local Killdeer were forced into the Marina Campground.

It might be premature to declare Dottie gone, because today's tidal
conditions were extreme. But with interest having waned, the daily effort
to find and track her may be below the necessary critical mass.

I will report only if I hear of any credible future sightings.
