Sightings for Tuesday October 26th

A CATTLE EGRET was seen in Chilliwack along Hwy. 1 and Crest Road in farm
fields below the overpass. Also in the area a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL was seen
along Elkview Road.


The sewage ponds at Iona had 1 LEAST and 1 WESTERN and 10 PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS as well as 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS. One LAPLAND LONGSPUR was along
the south jetty and 46 SURFBIRDS were at the end of the jetty.

A WESTERN MEADOWLARK and a MERLIN were at Maplewood Flats in north
Vancouver.


October 25th

Two HORNED LARKS and a GOLDEN PLOVER were at the south jetty at Iona.


October 24th

The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen for the fifth consecutive day at Ocean Shores
in Washington State. Also of interest, a BLUE-GREY GNATCATCHER has been
seen at Marymoore Park near Bellevue Washington. For further updates on

Locally, a NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen on the west side of the Capillano
River of Ambleside Park in trees 50m north of the railway viaduct. Also at
Ambleside an AMERICAN DIPPER was seen at the lagoon as well as 10
RING-NECKED DUCKS.

A NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL was seen along the Yew Lake Trail at Cypress
Bowl

A BARRED OWL was in Musqueam Park near the entrance at west 48th St.


October 23rd

The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen for the fourth consecutive day along Damen
Point at Ocean Shores in Washington State. For updates please call the

Also in Washington 2 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were seen in Drayton Harbour in
Blaine.

A RED-THROATED PIPIT was seen on central Sannich Road in the Victoria area.

Locally a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen at the base of the north arm jetty of
Iona Island.

An OSPREY was seen in the Tsawwassen area along with 2 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS.

There were 7 RING-NECKED DUCKS in Ambleside Park, in west Vancouver.


October 22

The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen for the third consecutive day at Ocean
Shores in Washington State this morning between 9:30 and 10:30 am with a
mixed flock of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and DUNLIN at Damen Point. For updates

October 21st
The EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen for over five hours at Damen Point in Ocean
Shores.

Locally, one dark phased and one light phased ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK were seen
along with a NORTHERN SHRIKE at Boundary Bay at 64th St.


October 20th

A EURASIAN DOTTEREL was seen at Ocean Shores in Washington state this
morning with a mixed flock of GOLDEN PLOVERS at the base of Damen Point.
