Over past couple of weeks, have seen the same phenomenon repeated at least
three times -

Large gatherings of crows, the last time the count was in the 125 Bird range,
are very noisily gathering in one spot. In a near-by tree at least twice and
on a street intersection once. For upwards of half an hour, the crows will
singly and in numbers flock to one tree (or the intersection) make more noise
than usual and then return to whatever roost they started from. They are
exceptionally active even to the point of attempting to hover over select
limbs or certain spots in the street. Approx half a dozen occupy the select
limbs or were sitting in the intersection virtually oblivious to all the
activity, flapping, swooping, and racket going on.

Have never seen this type of behaviour in crows before. Wondering if anyone
can enlighten me on what's happening. Aside from the noise, it's really quite
fascinating to watch.
