Notes: Visibilty was less than perfect this morning. A light
fog made it difficult to see beyond about 3km. PACIFIC LOONS
were flying north at a rate just under 10/min (range 7-14) and
there were 35 or so in a feeding flock on the ocean. A POMARINE
JAEGER flew by near the observation station at about 30min into
the watch and a BULLER'S SHEARWATER flew through the main
feeding flock at about 40min into the watch. Shearwater sp.
were most probably SOOTY SHEARWATERS based on size.

Mike Patterson The common view of science is that it is a sort of machine
Astoria, OR for increasing the race's store of dependable facts.
mpatters at oregonvos.net It is that only in part; in even larger part
it is a machine for upsetting undependable facts.
