Subject: Info.on Owls? - My 1st visit to Washington will be 11/3 -11/6

My name is Kathy Caminiti and we live in Burlington, Ky. My husband and I
are ABA members and we are also licensed raptor rehabilitators here in
Kentucky . Our life list is 508 and we love birding whenever we can fit it
in !

I have airline tickets for a business trip for a co-worker and myself- We
arrive in Seattle Wed. 11/3 at 1:15 pm

Then, on Thurs. 11/4, I will be driving to Portland , Oregon to see a
customer there.....

Then back to Seattle on Thursday night or Friday morning .......THEN, I will
have all day Saturday and possibly a good portion of Friday to bird in the
area....before leaving on Sunday at 8:40 a.m. Of course, I will check the
rare bird alert also while in the area.

Can you please help me with a few questions? Raptors are our
favorites....being as we work with them , we find them the most fascinating,
especially the OWLS ! We have seen all the owls in North America "except"
for Spotted, Northern Pygmy and Boreal Owls. I know this time of year is
a "terrible" time of year to try to see any one of these species, but I have
to ask........

Could you please advise me on any possibilities for seeing any of these 3 owl
species during this time period , anywhere close to the above itinerary, while
traveling back and forth from Portland, Oregon, or anywhere that could be
travelled in 1 day or 1-1/2 days from Seattle ? or anyone's name that might
be able to help me search these owls out ?

I have ordered and received the "Birder's Guide to Washington", and "Birding
in Seattle and King County" from ABA.

Any information would be so greatly appreciated.....I look forward to hearing
from you and thank you ! Happy Birding !
