Hi Tweeties,

This morning I decided to head out to the Kent Ponds a.k.a. Green River
Natural Resource Area to see what I could see.

Not much.

I wanted to see some of the non-"commuter" Canada Geese that seem to be
flying back and forth over my apartment building. I get up to the GRNRA and
nary a goose is to be seen.

Here's what I did see.....

A Gull, possibly a MEW GULL. Very small with very black with white spotted
wing tips.
Several pairs of GADWALLS
Countless COOTS
A multitude of MALLARDS
Some PINTAILS
A pair of RING NECK DUCKS
A small flock of "Peeps" or other small shore bird, in flight.
Many, many WIGEONS. I was too far away to tell if there were any Eurasians
in the flock
BUFFLE HEADS
A possible CINNAMON TEAL - again too far for positive ID, the duck did have
lots of dark red on it's breast.
BLUE WINGED TEAL
Three GREAT BLUE HERONS
Several PIED BILLED GREBES. And a possible other small GREBE. This one may
have been a bit bigger than the pied billed. It's neck was a bit darker and
had stripes running down the sides of the neck.

A HAWK of some kind was perched in one of the snags out in the ponds. I
think it was a RED TAILED HAWK. Before I could get a positive ID on it,
some crows came along and chased it away!

Some other hawks soared overhead and cried, but they were back lit....no id.

I also checked out the "Ol' Fishin' Hole".

Not much going on there.

The usual band of MALLARDS that waddled right up to me expecting hand outs!
A couple of GADWALLS
And a PIED BILLED GREBE.
I also heard REDWING BLACKBIRDS at both locations.
