Hi Tweets,

Janet and I visited the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge this Sunday
morning. Only about 3 and !/2 miles of the trails are open. We scared up
an AMERICAN BITTERN on the western Brown's Dike Trail. Then in the NW
corner of the Ring Dike loop we spotted a WHITE-TAILED KITE not 40 feet
off the trail resting in a bush. We were informed by a volunteer that
it's been at the refuge for a while. First time we've seen this species
in WA. Additional delights included BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, GOLD-CROWNED AND
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS and perhaps a LINCOLN'S SPARROW.
