Subject: Ocean Shores, WA Dotterel report, 10/31 afternoon

Good news, everyone.

After hearing of other recent sightings, Sue and I broke free for a while
this afternoon and located 'Dottie' on the sodbanks behind 566 Chinook
Avenue, on the bay, about a mile north of Bill's Spit. It was feeding
loosely with Black-bellies and Marbled Godwits. Around 4 pm, something
disturbed these birds, and Dottie flew with a few of the others southward,
towards Bill's Spit and Damon Pt.

It seems plausible that Dottie regularly feeds in this extensive area along
the bayshore at lower tides, then heads back towards Damon Pt. as these
banks are immersed. High tide this afternoon is about 6 pm.

Please note that the bayfront is mostly private property, and the usual
courtesies should be observed if birding here.

Good luck, all.
