Hi Tweets!

I had the day off work today, and because I had very
little homework this weekend, I decided to take off
for Skagit, and Deception Pass. Actually, I also
spent a little time at Padilla Bay and Samish flats.
The tides were not very cooperative, and Skahit was
crwling with Duck hunters. The highlight at Skagit
was a MERLIN chasing the flocks of BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER, DUNLIN, and SANDERLINGS, along with a few
SNIPE. I am sure there was more, because there were a
couple thousand birds (2:00 in the afternoon), but
many were too far out to be seen well. Also, on the
way back from Deception Pass, there was a NORTHERN
GOSHAWK flying into the woods. This was off of
highway 20, next to the cemetary on the northwest side
of the road, close to a mile southwest of March Point
Road, after the Fidalgo Island bridge. We got good
views of the bird by turning into the cemtary and
looking into the woods, using our car as a blind.
