I tried to send this earlier, but it didn't happen. here goes:

I saw what I might call a crow wake once. Up the street from
our
house in Minnesota I saw one day a large flock (30-50 perhaps) of crows
wheeling and making a lot of noise. I walked up to check it out, and I
found a dead crow in the street. It looked like it must have been
killed
by car impact (it wasn't squished or anything...). The crows were
definitely focused on the dead bird, sweeping down near it. I don't
think
any were landing near it though. Interesting behavior, and very
touching
actually...
