A COMMON GRACKLE was seen August 27 in front of the old gas station in
Silver Lake. A REEVE was along the nature trail behind the Hatfield

Migrations continue very heavy with SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, WHITE-FRONTED
GEESE, and NIGHTHAWKS reported during the week. PINTAILS, WIGEON, and
SHOVELERS are now arriving in numbers on coastal estuaries, and
shorebirds rarities are now arriving, with some SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS
still being reported.

An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was at New River August 30. A WILLET was at
Yaquina Bay September 1. Boiler Bay viewpoint continues very good for
seabirds with large numbers of SOOTY SHEARWATERS, over 500 RHINOCEROS
AUKLETS, and over 200 HEERMANN'S GULLS there August 27.

On August 30 a juvenile STILT SANDPIPER and a PECTORAL SANDPIPER were
with the many shorebirds along Fenk Road west of Tillamook. On August 29
five PACIFIC and AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were at the Bayocean Shorebird
Flats on Tillamook Bay. The day before two AVOCETS were seen there.

A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was found August 31 at the mouth of the
Necanicum River in Gearhart. The next day it was seen flying off to the
south. A COMMON TERN and a PARASITIC JAEGER were at the South Jetty of
the Columbia River August 31.
