A master falconer took the bird to his home near Stanwood, WA.
for
reconditioning. While their the eagle, now named "Golda" (she
is 3 ? and
weights 11 lbs.) was flying and upon landing, broke her leg!
They took her to
a vet. known for his expertise with raptors and he said that
she had
osteoporosis? Her bones were very thin and there was a
fracture line on the
same leg from a previous break. The vet. put a splint on it
and they decided
that it would be best for "Golda" to be at a Rehab center for
now.

Oh yes......while at Omak her Cere turned black and came off,
I guess from the combination of the frounce and starvation. It
has grown back.

She sure is a tough ol' gal. :-)

If anyone would like to see Golda, she is at the Sarbey
Rehab.center in
Arlington, WA. I think that is the name of the place. I don't
hear so well on
the phone.

BTW if anyone wants to know how to make the ? instead of
1/2, just hold down the alt key and hit 171 on the number
keyboard, and for degrees ? use alt 0186.
