About 7;30 last night I heard a light thud on a sliding door. A moment later
we noticed an impressive immature red tailed hawk sitting in the branch of
a sumac about 5 feet off the ground and 10 feet from the house. We got a
very good view of it and it stayed until I went for a camera. This morning
lying at the bottom of the sliding door was a dead crow. some blood and
feathers on the window. It looked like a young one. I guess the hawk had
taken a dive at it and it thought it could escape through the glass.
Interesting to get such a close look at the red tail.
