Hi Tweets - We were at Marymoor park this morning, and while walking we
spooked a Cooper's Hawk away from a rock dove it was feeding on. It went to
the top of a large tree, and we were able to watch it for several hours. It
had eaten most of the pigeon, and was very content to sit on it's secluded
perch and digest it's meal. We watched it for an hour, and then went to get
something for lunch, after which we came back, and it was still on the same
perch. We watched for another hour. We were able to watch it preen itself,
stare at us while we stared back. A great way to spend a few hours on a
wonderful sunny afternoon!
