Subject: possible Sharp-tailed Sandpiper at SJCR

I just got a call from Scott Rea. He had a Pectoral-sized Calidrid
come into the west pond near dusk making a call he described as a lilting
"tul-liip." He is very familiar with most sandpiper calls, but did
not recognize this (and has never heard SHTS).

It is a bit early for Sharp-tails, so this could be an adult...
or it could be something completely different.

Mike Patterson The common view of science is that it is a sort of machine
Astoria, OR for increasing the race's store of dependable facts.
mpatters at oregonvos.net It is that only in part; in even larger part
it is a machine for upsetting undependable facts.
