I spent Saturday, Sept. 4 birding a few locations in Clark County. At
the Steigerwald Lake N.W.R. near Washougal there were two AMERICAN
BITTERN, two GREATER YELLOWLEGS, a COOPER'S HAWK, a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK,
and one EASTERN KINGBIRD. The Red-shouldered Hawk was an adult bird in
the trees along the lake South of Highway 14, just past the "Entering the
Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area" sign.
I finished the day in the Vancouver Lake Lowlands where the only bird of
interest was a CLARK'S GREBE at the Vancouver Lake Flushing Channel.
