Hello, Toni and Tweeters:

I've noticed not many of Attenborough's birds are from the Western
Hemisphere, where we have only three Kingfisher species, ranging in size
from 22cm to 33cm. (I looked up the centimeters.) In Australia, where most
of that episode was shot, there are, I think, ten species; from Azure
Kingfisher, about 20cm, to Laughing Kookaburra, at almost 50cm. The
Blue-winged Kookaburra is almost as large as Laughing but not nearly as
imposing, or rowdy!

Am enjoying the series, however. The pre- research work and number of
camera people listed on the titles are impressive.
