Birders,
We, plus Dennis Rockwell, checked out the Yakima River Delta
& nearby Bateman Island on 9/4/99.
Warblers continue to be in low numbers.
Zero flycatchers were seen.
Shorebirds were in decent numbers.
3 Pectoral Sandpipers were the most noteworthy.
Over 200 Bank Swallows are still there.
On Bateman Island were:
A tired Townsends Solitaire
A few White-cr Sparrows were new arrivals.
A Yellow-rumped Warbler was the first of the fall.
3 Wilson's Warblers.
1 Nashville Warbler
20 Orange-cr Warblers (all the gray-headed form (celata?)
3 Townsend's Warblers
1 House Wren
1 Hermit Thrush (1st of fall for us)
We missed Warbling Vireo, but others saw a couple.
the Black-headed Grosbeaks are evidently gone.

Good Birding,
