Tweeters,

I have found a nest in the Eatonville area that is different from any I've
seen and I need help identifying it. It was on top of a horizontal branch of
a small doug fir about 4' off the ground. It was the shape and size of a
robin nest, but lacked the mud on the inner cup. The outer portion was
composed of strands of bright green moss. The inner portion was composed of
grass and herbaceous plant material there were no sticks or woody material.
The cup was made of very fine, dry grass.

I suspect it's some kind of thrush, but it doesn't quite conform to the
Audubon Field Guides descriptions. This nest was heavily infested with the
bird blowflies I am studying and I'd like to come up with an ID, if possible.

Thanks for your help,

Terry Whitworth
