Hi Tweets,

During a beach walk with my kids yesterday morning from Owens Beach (in
Point Defiance park) out to
Point Defiance in Tacoma, there were lots of birds in the strong tidal
current just off the point. This is a beautiful place (and a great time of
year) for a leisurely bird/beach walk, but the point is accessible only at
low tide.

Birds seen included:

Red-necked Phalarope 200+
Parasitic Jaeger 1 (adult)
Bonaparte's Gulls 150+
Common Tern 3
Spotted Sandpiper 2

And a smattering of Gl-w/Olympic gulls, Pigeon Guillemots, Rhino Auklets,
D-C Cormorants, and Harbor Seals.
