Last evening, Sept 9, 7:30 pm or so, watched about 600 VAUX'S SWIFTS whirl their way over downtown Camas, Clark Co. Quite a spectacle, like a tornado of birds, and worth the price of admission. The show went on for at least 15 minutes, at which time my stomach finally dragged me into the restaurant that had been my destination. I expect they are roosting in a chimney or such, but I wasn't able to see where this was.

Also saw a LEWIS WOODPECKER today Sept 10 about 3 miles due east of Washougal, along the road on some oaks and a utility pole.
