hello tweets.

did any of you see the news story tonight that showed some footage
of a bird being knocked from the sky by a long drive deep into
left-center field? it was a minor-league game, so i can't remember
who was playing (as if i care). the ball went up high in an
impressive arc, then abruptly came straight down. a moment later,
a bird plopped to the earth about ten feet away. the outfielder
used his mitt to pick it up very gingerly by one wing and carried it
unceremoniously from the field. my brief glimpse made me think the
bird was a common nighthawk, but i wonder if anyone else saw it?
