Hello Tweeters,
I must share this with all the Tweeters and birders. When i came home
yesterday there was a big package on my door,i knew i didn't order
anything, but i can tell it was from New York, and from Joyce Miller who i
took out on a fieldtrip to the Ocean on the 16th of August. She got name
from the list in ABA for visiter what come to town to show around. We had
such a good time and hit it right on. I mention my Dragonflies and showed
also some photos. Well i realy was surprised when i open the package to
find a verry colourful stone cup handpainted with Dragonflies. This was a
birder who goes all the time birding and had few trips overseas. I think
she was realy impressed talking about Dragonflies and how i got in to this
hobby. Of cause i mention Dennis Paulson who realy build me up when i took
the photos of the Paddle-tailed Darner(Aeshna palmata) in September 1997 on
Ocean Shores.I never forgot, i was standing on the pond's on Damon Point
(took all the photos what there was to take of Shorebirds),my Son Patrick
took of as always. So i was standing ther kind of bored, i saw this big
Dragonflies hoovering over the marsh. I took my camera try to get this
Dragonflies in to focus. I took six shots , and the story goes like
this:This photos of a Dranonflie in flight, ended up on Dennis Paulson's
Web-site That was the beginning of my obsession learning all about this
kritters.
This is the third gift (Socks with Dragonflies and a Dragonflie Pin) i
recieved from birders. I had a fantastic sommer, finding all the species i
intended to find, without one,the Black-tipped Darner (Aeshna tuberculifera
) which i still have a chance to get in Mason Co.
