Hi,

I'm glad you folks are enjoying the condor story. I have some thoughts
about this gang of oversized adolescent vultures. The story says condors
have been known to hang out near where humans live.

Well, I'm willing to really off the deep end on this one. These are young
birds, without real condor role models to guide them toward proper adult
condor behavior. I think these "gang banging" vultures have been in the
foster care of CORVIDS! I think one might find a raven or two lurking in
the shadows cheering on the young condors!

The ravens are smart enough to know they can't get away with such rowdy
behavior - the local humans would shoot first and ask questions later. So
the ravens have "adopted" the young condors and have taught them *all* the
tricks they would play on humans if they could get away with it. The ravens
aren't stupid, they know the condors are endangered and can't be touched!

So now the ravens are getting vicarious satisfaction watching the young,
dumb condors act out their corvid fantasies.

Diann "Vulture Lady" will you share your observations and thoughts on this
one?
