The wind has shifted full tilt to the east at 15-20. The dragonfly
movement reported on Saturday not evident on Sunday. There were
meadowhawks in the area, however. Most were hovering while faced into
the
wind. Shorebirds were in low numbers though a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER
was in the small group of LEAST and WESTERN SANDPIPERS. A single
COMMON SNIPE was in the now dry back pond. A juv HORNED LARK has been
at the river beach SJCR all week.

Migration has been spotty over the past week and subject to the
vagaries of the weather. EVENING GROSBEAKS and TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS
have arrived. WILSON'S WARBLERS seem to be lingering longer than
usual.
