hello tweeters
spent the day birding whidbey island with the SAS group. on the
northern part of the island we observed a female northern harrier that
had a very large yellow tag on the wing with the number two. obviously,
some sort of banding. to whom should this be reported?
we had a lovely day with nice views of shorebirds and waterfowl. had
long, excellent looks at a large flock of black turnstones with two
surfbirds comingling. they were on the end of the dock at penn cove.
also very interesting was on our crossing from mukilteo we observed a
group of about 8 or 10 surf scoters in flight. the last bird was an
auklet tagging along as if he was one of them!!
the weather was fantastic.
