I've got another STORK REPORT

The stork is still stalking the fields between West Valley Highway and the
167 freeway at 287th Street. I spotted the bird near the freeway this a.m.
and again this afternoon....twice! Can I include the stork on my life list?

I drove home via the West Valley Highway and found the bird in the field
next to the Oak Harbor Freight Lines yard. I got home, picked up my
binoculars and headed back to the field. The stork had moved closer to the
old farm house on 285th street near the freeway. With binoculars I got a
great look at its details, and it even flew for me. What a beautiful
creature! It soared a little and ended up on the other side of the freeway
in a field between the freeway and the warehouses with the blue-green stripe
around the upper walls.

Yes, yep, ja! It's a European Stork for sure! It looked just like the ones
on the German ornithology website.

My next question, who lost a stork? I cannot imagine it somehow managed to
get here from the rooftops of Germany! Another question regarding the
stork....... What if our stork discovers a stork of the opposite sex
hanging out in the area, would they feel comfortable enough to breed? Our
climate and that of Germany are quite similar, although we have a bit warmer
summers and milder winters.
