Yesterday at Marymoor featured the most beautiful sunrise, a nice hour or so, a
storm front, and RAIN.

As I drove in, the Cascades were a silhouette against a blue-green sky, while
the clouds were glowing orange banners above. The grass fields were damp and
foggy, and two Coyote were chasing each other playfully back and forth, looking
like two German Sheppards having a tussle. Later I saw 1 of them (or a third?)
crossing the south end of the dog area.

Fall has arrived, and the summer birds are mostly gone. There were still a few
Common Yellowthroat, and dozen or so Barn Swallows, but that was it.
Conversly, gull numbers are climbing, the ducks are getting pretty again, and
the Pea Patch is full of fall sparrows and finches.

Highlights were few:

Gadwall A gorgeous, fresh-feathered pair.
Wood Duck Seven at the lake
Cooper's Hawk Two, and probably a Sharpie as well.
Lincoln's Sparrow At least 6, including 3 in 1 bush
Savannah Sparrow 5, Pea Patch and compost pile
White-crowned Sparrow Perhaps 15
Golden-crowned Sparrow 1 near new plantings S of windmill
Cedar Waxwing 30 near the GCSP
