Subject: Cardinals @ Gig Harbor??

I just talked to a lady in Gig Harbor who has reported seeing birds (in her
yard this morning) described as one all red with a top-knot, the other as
"beige with some red on the tail and underside and no top-knot." Unless
they are escapees peculiarly like Cardinals, or something red with screwed
up head feathers, the description sounds pretty definitive.

The lady, who is not a birder, but who has Cardinal experience from living
in Florida, has not seen them since, but promises to call me if she sees
them again. She initially reported them to Wild Birds Unlimited in Gig
Harbor, who referred her to Joan Carson, Kitsap County's "Bird Lady," who
notified me.

Kitsap Peninsula folks, stay alert! (I'll assume this is an unusual
occurrence. ? )

I'll post any further reports.
