Steve and tweets: if the pellets are in tact and not broken up, then the
roost is probably being used presently. Pellets are surprisingly clean and
are very interesting to sort through. One advisable warning: if you plan to
keep some of the better pellets for collection, you might want to keep them
with some mothballs or you might be invaded by little friends. I have
pellets ranging in size from jelly beans to the size of a fist. It's always
fun explaining to guests what those ugly gray fur balls are sealed in spice
