Dan Derbyshire reports that between 1200 and 1500 TURKEY VULTURES were at
Rocky Point September 27 & 28, 1999. I believe this is the largest number
ever reported for British Columbia.

Two BROAD-WINGED HAWKS were also present. It is estimated that at least 12
Broad-wings have passed over Rocky Point this fall, also a record for the
province.

Heavy movements of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS (approx 600) and PINE SISKINS
were noted on September 27 (50 were captured and banded). Tons of sparrows
moving - a WHITE-THROATED was found September 27. HERMIT THRUSHES are also
on the move.
