Those of you who read Dennis Paulson's recent piece in
Seattle Audubon's Earthcare might be particularly interested
in a very recent monograph on the "Northwestern Crow"
(my quotation marks) in the Birds of North America series.
The authors say that many consider the NW crow a subspecies of
the American crow. They go on to say that American Crow and
NW crow constitute a superspecies.
Surprizingly they do not mention DNA studies or list it
in the topics for future research.
