Greetings tweetsters,

This is to announce that the Green Lake Park Alliance will be offering free
bird walks around Green Lake again this winter. Yours truly will be
"leading" most of the walks and besides identifying our feathered friends we
will also discuss behavior (lots of duck courtship goes on during the colder
months), the lake's geology, history, and ecology. As always I'm happy to
talk Pied-bills too. We can do gulls as much or as little as people want
(provided there are some).

There's no need to sign up, just show up. Do dress up warm. The "walks" take
anywhere from 2 - 4 hours (for a 2.83 mile walk), so you can figure on
standing still a lot. Bring binoculars/scope/field guide etc. If you have
non I'm happy to share.

The walks take place every first and third Saturday from October through
April. Meet at 8 AM on the beach steps at the east beach (Community
Center/Evans Pool). If you come by car take extra time to jockey for a
parking spot.

See you there,
Martin Muller
