Subject: Lonesome Crows?

Hi Tweets,

I have noticed some interesting CROW behavior this past week or so. The
crows have been alone with no other crows nearby when they've done this
particular behavior. The first crow was on the ground, hunched down,
fluffed out it's neck feathers and made a soft gurgling purr sound. The
sound at times almost sounded like a meow!

The second "lonesome" crow was in a tree alternating between loud clicks and
the gurgling-purr-meow sound. "Mow? Mow?" it seemed to query.

Any bright ideas regarding these calls?
