Sunday, April 2 - 12:28 PM Hi, this is Mike Donohue in Seattle. This
morning around 9:00, I spent about 20 minutes watching a first winter
Iceland Gull at the rendering plant in Tacoma off of Lincoln Avenue. This
bird was overall very pale and had a lot of white in the wing coverts,
scapulars, and the back feathers. The primaries were very pale brown on the
outer webs with pure white inner webs and the tertials were mostly white
with some pale brown marbling. All of these features are consistent with the
Kumlien's form of the Iceland Gull. My phone number is (206) 323-9889.
