Hi.

I want to buy a field guide for a nine-year-old girl who currently lives
near Phoenix and will be coming up here in a month and a half, for
good. I was going to buy her the Peterson Field Guide to Western Birds,
but I had second thoughts. Maybe that book is a bit to dense for her.

Might there be a field guide more suited to kids, but would still list
birds that would be found in AZ and WA? Somebody down there told her
about a "phoenix" bird, which is not in the FGWB. I'd like to get the
book to her before she comes up here, so she can figure out what this
"phoenix bird" is.
