Subject: RBA: HARRIS SPARROW IN AUBURN

Tweeters,

This noon hour today Wed., April 5th, since 12:30 through now (roughly 2
p.m.), I have been observing a Harris Sparrow in my back yard. This bird
has been associating with a flock of White and Golden-Crowneds. The bird
has been feeding on the ground under the feeder as well as hopping about in
the lawn searching for insects. We also have several Rufous Hummingbirds
(finally) and there have been several Purple Finches mixing in with a
sisken, goldfinch and House Finch flock over the last several days. I don't
know if the Harris has been here a few days now or not nor if it will stick
around but anyone interested can come sit on the back patio and watch.
Please call before coming and to get directions. Also does anyone know what
are some of the latest dates in the spring to find this bird in W.
Washington?
