Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday April 6. If you have anything to add call Harry

An EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE was observed along Wireless Road near Astoria
April 3. The YELLOW-BILLED LOON is still being seen just south of the
boat landing on Netarts Bay. The two EMPEROR GEESE in the flock of
ALEUTIAN CANADA GEESE, and the EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL are still along
Fenk Road, west of Tillamook.

A male COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD was reported during the week from the Rose
Gardens in Portland's Washington Park.

Noticeable movements during the week included GREATER YELLOWLEGS, RUFOUS
HUMMINGBIRDS, and BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS. Good movements of CASPIAN
TERNS, CALIFORNIA GULLS, and scoters were reported along the coast. Small
flocks of EVENING GROSBEAKS are now entering the Willamette Valley.

On March 31 a CLARK'S NUTCRACKER was in the Coast Range east of Toledo. A
ROCK SANDPIPER is being seen on Barview Jetty; and the LAPLAND LONGSPURS
are still at the South Jetty of the Columbia River.

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was at a Silverton feeder April 2; at a Washougal
feeder April 4; and at a Corvallis feeder April 6.

A TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was at the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland April 2. A
CASPIAN TERN was near the mouth of the Clackamas River in Oregon City
April 1. A LAZULI BUNTING was near Canby April 5. The YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS returned to the Briedwell Marsh, near Amity April 2. A
RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was near Lebanon during the week, but did not remain.

Three BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and about 100 GREATER YELLOWLEGS were near
Tangent April 4. A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was near there two days earlier. A
VAUX'S SWIFT was over Corvallis April 4. A CASSIN'S VIREO was on Mt.
Pisgah, near Eugene April 5.

A TRUMPETER SWAN and a number of YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS were at the
marsh along the I-84 freeway near Stanfield April 2. LONG-BILLED CURLEWS
are now back on their summer ranges.

YELLOW-HEADED and TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS are now back at their nesting
site at Barnes Butte Reservoir, north of Prineville. A YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD was at Fields April 3.
