Today I birded the entire loop of Nisqually NWR, with great weather, but
minor winds in the mid afternoon. Highlights included:

1 TURKEY VULTURE
2 1st winter GLAUCOUS GULLS
3 WESTERN GULLS
1 THAYER'S GULL
3 HERRING GULLS
28 CASPIAN TERNS
1 ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD*(along the east trail and Nisqually River)
2 RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKERS(nesting)
2 N.ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS
1 HERMIT THRUSH
12 COMMON YELLOWTHROATS
1 HARRIS' SPARROW(along the trail at the NW corner of refuge with
Golden-crowned Sparrows)

* indicates personal new county bird

Others:
2 River Otters along the Nisqually River
My first dragonfly of the season, presumably a California Darner, but quite
early in the season

More spring arrivals were expected, but are probably soon to arrive!
