Heard my first Drumming Ruffed Grouse of the year. Checked several areas
that usually have grouse standing and drumming but they all seem to be
vacant at this time. Also first Northern Flicker of the year this morning,
and a Red-breasted Sapsucker yesterday.
There is a Rough-legged Hawk hunting the fields around our place and on Wed.
I had a Sharp-shinned Hawk take a Robin about 30 ft. away from me.
